True Crime Inspired: Our Designs

Ah, the term ‘Recidivist’—that fancy word for those who can’t resist the urge to get back to their old tricks! It’s like that friend who always orders the same boring salad but sneaks fries off your plate when you’re not looking. We all know someone who seems to be on a repeat loop of questionable choices, and let’s be honest, we’ve all made our fair share of those in our lifetime.

I first stumbled upon the word “recidivist” ages ago. It took me forever to get my tongue around it and pronounce it right, but I loved its meaning. To me, it captures that cheeky side we all keep under wraps. That’s why I turned it into a brand! Be who you want to be!

Now, for a bit of background: “recidivist” means repeat offending, usually associated with those convicted by the courts. However, on the lighter side, it refers to those who lapse into troublesome behaviour. Think about it: secretly munching on chocolate, skipping the bed-making routine, or leaving dirty laundry on the floor—these are the real repeat offences. By the way, it’s pronounced REE-CID-IVIST. 😏

I designed the recidivist logo featuring a crown that looks like it is tilted. It symbolizes that while some folks are busy following the rules of the crown, we recidivists take those rules, give them a little nudge, and twist them around like a pretzel, because who says breaking rules can’t be a bit of fun?
